getting back to me

Most of the time we’re loved for what we can do rather than for who we are…If someone loves you for what you can do then it’s flattering…If someone loves you for who you are then they have to know you, which means you have to know them.

– Roxane Coss, Bel Canto

After completing 2/3 of Ann Patchett’s Bel Canto, I’m finally getting into the book. It’s been dragging up until now. Reading this book has also made me realize I’m more of a non-fiction reader. That and some historical fiction…I think.

PCV departures < PCV arrivals. Still.

I bid farewell to two PCVs that were part of the Essa family when I arrived. It’s crazy to think…within the Essa province, I’m part of the next group of PCVs to COS. That’s still a year away too.

For the next few days, I’ll be staying put in site. I’ve been traveling to/from Essa way too frequently. Then again, most of it has been work-related so that’s awesome.

Good conversations that have led to contemplative sessions recently. Awesome.
